ABSTRACT

In the perspective of "Internet plus", the paper discussed the practice of hospital logistics management , by means of internet technology and thinking , its powerful informationization and socialization. Thus we can effectively integrate hospital logistics resources , make the logistics work fast and efficient, and realize the leapfrog development of hospital logistics management .Such a hospital logistics management can improve the level and quality of logistics service , elevate logistics service satisfaction , and reduce the logistics cost .By making full use of big data , the"Internet plus"provides the basis for decision making for the continuous improvement of logistics .On the risk management level ,"Internet plus"can also achieve real-time connectivity and integrated efficiency , which is more suitable for hospital emergency management and crisis management .

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND:Endplate cartilage degeneration initiates intervertebral disc degeneration. AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) regulates the formation and degradation of cartilage. OBJECTIVE:To explore the role of AMPK in an in vitro natural degeneration model of chondrocytes derived from endplate of rat intervertebral discs. METHODS:Morphology of in vitro subcultured endplate chondrocytes of rat intervertebral discs at passages 0, 2, and 5 were observed under an inverted microscope fol owing cytoskeleton staining. Chondrocyte phenotype, proliferation, and the cartilage marker genes (type II col agen, proteoglycan, SOX-9, matrix metal oproteinase-3 and-13), and AMPK phosphorylation were determined by toluidine blue staining, MTT assay, real-time PCR analysis, and western blot assay, respectively. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The altered morphology, decreased proliferation ability, and phenotype loss were observed in chondrocytes with increased passage number. Gene expression of type II col agen, proteoglycan, SOX-9 was significantly decreased;while gene expression of matrix metal oproteinase-3 and-13 was significantly increased in endplate chondrocytes at passage 5 compared with those at passages 0 and 2. AMPK phosphorylation in endplate chondrocytes at passage 5 was significantly decreased. These findings indicate that AMPK phosphorylation is involved in in vitro natural degeneration of chondrocytes derived from the endplate of rat intervertebral discs, and the degeneration of endplate chondrocytes and intervertebral discs can be inhibited through the regulation of AMPK activity.

ABSTRACT

In recent years there have been many cases of violence against healthcare professionals [HCPs] in China leading to the death of some doctors as well as nurses by patient's relatives. Our objective was to identify the causative factors for these violent acts and address these issues which is vital to ensure patient safety. A multidisciplinary research task force was formed to do a root cause analysis of the violent acts against the healthcare professionals. A flowchart was developed to identify the steps in the process and discover the potential links. There are complex reasons behind the violence against HCPs. However, the main reasons were found to be poor quality of medical services and increased awareness of patients' rights and their willingness to knock at the doors of courts to seek justice. The feasible counter measures includes stimulating hospital directors to improve patient safety, aligning incentives with quality of service provided in healthcare facilities, monitoring educational quality of HCPs, making necessary changes in medical education programmes besides setting up a reasonable academic promotion mechanism for health professionals based on merit and competence. Poor quality of medical services, increased awareness among patients about their rights has resulted in increase in medical disputes and at times violence against healthcare professionals. A number of effective measures can be undertaken by the government, hospitals, and medical schools ensuring patient safety. However, it is essential to sensitize the hospital directors to elevate their quality of medical services

ABSTRACT

Through defining the connotation of division and cooperation among medical institutions, this paper introduces the current status for division and cooperation among medical institutions of Britain, Germany, Singapore and USA. The advantages include excellent general practices, optimal health resource allocation, effective first treat-ment in community health facilities, and effective two-way referral. We analyzed the influence of some new policies on the division and cooperation among medical institutions such as medical association, managed care and the General Practices’ service contract. This provided a lot of experience and revelations, including the dynamics to promote the division and cooperation, the separation of outpatient services and inpatient services, privatization of primary medical institutions, division and cooperation between medical institutions and nursing, rehabilitation institutions, distinguis-hing the division and cooperation from hospitals alliance, and division and cooperation among medical institutions can not resolve the all issues in the medical care supply system.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To develop an indicator system for assessing public hospital performance. Methods:Based on literature research and expert consultation, we formed an indicator system framework and indicators for as-sessing public hospital performance. Using Delphi expert consultation, focus group interviews, focus group discussion and individual in-depth interview qualitative research methods, we constructed a public hospital performance evalua-tion indicators. Results:There are four dimensions, 11 secondary indicators, 30 tertiary indicators in the indicator system, depending on the level of hospital, the indicators and weights are adjusted. Conclusion:The indicator system is suitable for public-interest-oriented performance assessment of public hospitals, and provides basis for the perform-ance assessment system.
